The Buffbunny Collection is US based brand created by Heidi Sommers aka “Buffbunny”. The company takes pride in being created specifically for women, keeping in mind functionality, quality, as well as esthetics. See their website HERE.
My review of fabric “Elysium”
Buffbunny leggings come in various fabrics. Elysium fabric is most practical option for hiking and sports in general. It is breathable, quick drying and durable material.It is sleek material, but not shiny and not see-through, even in light colours. Although most styles dont have top band, they do not really slide down. The material is light, so it is great for warmer weather. Unfortunately it is not very popular and it is frequently missed during launches.
My review of fabric “NuBre”
The most popular fabric is NuBre which is super soft double brushed material, created and trademarked by Buffbunny collection. This is very comfortable fabric, however I find that durability is not great. It pills quickly, it catches pet fur and if you use it for hiking, the bottom part of your backpack will rub the material thin. It is breathable but not sweat wicking. Majority I own, are not see through, however some light colours or certain legging styles might be. NuBre leggings might be great non-hiking option.
My review of other fabrics
Other good option for hiking is their Material girl ribbed material. It is thicker material, durable, comfortable, not see-through and has great cellulite coverage. Another popular fabric is called Butter, which is supposed to be improved NuBre, softer, stretchier and lighter version. I do not own a pair, because other reviews mention poor durability. There are further materials, but these are the most common. They also have seamless leggings which might be great option, but I have not tested them. For hiking I only recommend Elysium, other performance fabrics (such as airbrush) or ribbed material if looking for slightly warmer leggings.
Leggings styles
Buffbunny offers great range of styles. Their best seller is Legacy and Rosa, however they are usually only in NuBre fabric. The best option for hiking is their Rebel or Laser cut. Also because these two styles do not come with many seams and therefore prevent unnecessary rubbing.
Collections
Buffbunny is coming with new collection aproximately every 8 weeks. Most leggings are limited editions and do not return back. Some styles stay such as Legacy, but only handful of colours are repeated. Each launch comes in different, styles, colours and prints. The brand is continuously growing and certain launches sell out within minutes. The sizes are inclusive going from XXS-XXXL.
Prices and taxes
The price is relatively high, and especially for this reason I suggest Elysium or ribbed material since they are more durable. Each year the black friday sale offers great deals with up to 80% off. In addition there are small sales couple times of the year. They have warehouses only in USA and in Canada. They ship worldwide. If ordering from Europe, high import taxes and fees will be added, approximately 15-30% depending on value of your order and your country. For this reason it is best to shop in sales. The tax will be likely applied to the original price, but you can dispute, provide proof and receive refund.
Verdict
If you are US or Canada based, I would highly recommend grab a pair in Elysium or Material girl rib fabric. If unsure if you want to spend that much on leggings, wait with shopping until Black Friday or other sales. If you are European girl, try to see if you can get them on re-selling platforms such as Vindet. They are great leggings, but with the changed laws and high import taxes, they became very expensive since standard price of one pair, including taxes and fees, would be almost 100 EUR.
