Trail Navigation

Navigating the Stevns Klint Trampesti is straightforward with proper attention to trail markers. Look for the square blue or black signs with arrows to guide you in either direction. They also contain the name “Stevns Klint Trampesti”. Although I briefly lost the path near the Mandehoved quarry, staying along the cliffs made it easy to get back on track. There are various points of interest along the trail, like Stevnsfort Military Museum, which is a short 500-meter detour. For additional help, physical maps are available at tourist information centers and in Rødvig at the big information board.

TRAIL DETAILS

I started my hike by taking the free bus to Mandehoved and walked back to Rødvig. This part is about 21km long. There is additional 7km of trail between Mandehoved and Bogeskov, but I did not have sufficient time.

The majority of trail features gravel dirt path along farm fields and cliffs with occasional views on the cliffs. Expect benches for taking a rest and occasional diversions around private property. What makes this trail special is the many points of interest.   Informational signs, often in English, provide insights into the area’s rich history.

Dont forget to turn behind you to discover great views on the cliffs
The trail is mostly on gravel or path in the fields

Mandehoved has two points of interest: bird watch tower where it should be able to spot several birds of prey (not seen by me during my visit) and big quarry.

Stevns Fyrcenter is lighthouse which you can visit and climb to the top for nice views. Note that the stairs are very narrow and especially at the top you have to squeeze through small corridor and even smaller door. Small donation is expected.

Hojerup is small village with two churches, one newer and one very old one right at the cliff side. You will get amazing views on this church if walking direction towards Rodvig. If you walk the opposite direction, make sure to turn around to enjoy this view. At the old church you can descent down to the beach if you wish. The old church is really pretty and definitely worth a visit.

Personal experience

I completed this hike in July 2024 on Saturday. Weather around 17 degrees, sunny and strong winds. I have not met as many people on the trail as I expected although it has been weekend. Most people I have seen were at the points of interest, since each one of them has parking.

What a great hike! I love that it’s different to a traditional hike with the village and the points of interest. Very interesting and great photos!

The Stevns Klint hiking trail looks like it has beautiful views. I like that you can take a bus to one end and walk back. Can you also pick up buses at the points of interest?

Yes, the bus also stops at all of the points of interests. That is why its really great hike, you can fully customise how much you will walk.
