Introduction to Voxy brand

My review of the fabric
The traditional shorts are made from custom spandex/polyester blend. This performance material is stretchy and breathable. It is thick enough to provide support and be squat proof, but it is still breathable and comfortable. While Voxy does not promote the shorts as such, personally I really enjoy that this material for water sports. I love to use them for my kayaking adventures or swimming. I very much love these shorts, but I do not use them much for hiking as the material wears off were they come in contact with backpack. However I have not found leggings or shorts that would not do this, so this is not necessarily specific to Voxy.
My review of the styles
In 2024, four different styles of shorts were available for sale: 3 inch inseam, 5 inch inseam, 8 inch inseam and running short. Unfortunately, they all have front seam. Some of the longer styles have pockets. They are somewhat high-waisted. Although they are sleek material, I do not find them sliding down. They have top band which holds them in place but its not too compressive. Even while running, I did not need to pull them up. However they will likely hike up your leg in the 3″ or 5″ length, depending on your build and the size you get.
My review of the sizing
I find that they do run rather small, so I would recommend sizing up, especially if you are in between sizes. I have one pair in my regular size (L) and one pair size larger (XL). They both fit me, however I noticed I tend to grab for the larger size more often, because it is more comfortable, although I like the print in my regular size more. I do not have an issue with the larger size being too large or sliding etc.
My review of the prints
If you are looking for bright fun prints, these are the shorts for you. Several times during the year, the brand releases new prints, re-stocks popular ones and also releases exclusive prints, which are always in limited quantities. Since they are still relatively small company, some prints are released only in certain sizes and majority of the prints are released in 3″.
My review of other items
While shorts are the main stair of this brand, they also have other items, such as leggings, sports bras, t-shirts and socks. I purchased matching socks for one of the shorts and they are made from great material for sports. Stretchy performance and breathable material, quick dry and seamless. Really good quality. I have done distances in them up to 15km and they have not given me any issues.
Prices and taxes
The price is mid-range and I find it reasonable for the quality you get. Voxy often runs promotions, such as discount for Hyrox participants, Black Friday, or sale on certain styles, so it is worth signing up to their newsletter to be aware of their deals. If ordering outside of UK, import taxes and fees will be added, approximately 15-30% depending on value of your order and your country. For this reason it is best to shop in sales. The tax will be likely applied to the original price, but you can dispute, provide proof and receive refund
Verdict
I would highly recommend buying a pair of Voxy shorts, especially if you are UK based. Although they might not be great for hiking with backpack, they are fantastic for running and water or other sports. If unsure if you want to spend the money, wait with shopping until Black Friday or other sales. If you are based in Europe, try to see if you can get them on re-selling platforms such as Vindet. Carefully consider the size you want to buy.
